We continue to deal with the effects of red tide throughout the Bay area. Despite these conditions, the fishing remains productive. There is still plenty of bait around and we are catching fish. With continued warmer than normal temperatures, we have been catching snook on the beaches, in the passes, on the flats, and in the backwaters of Tampa Bay. Mackeral and kingfish have provided some nice action off of the beaches as well. Redfish are being plucked from the flats and oyster bars. On kayak trips, we have been using only artificial lures, and they have been productive. Don’t let the red tide scare you away, there are still plenty of options available for a great day of fishing.
